We are proud to share with you that the Centre Pompidou just announced the acquisition of Jill Magid’s first NFT, "Out-Game Flowers" (2023), whose production involved the most valuable digital flowers from iconic videogames like The Legend of Zelda, Minecraft or Final Fantasy.

The Centre Pompidou is the first institution dedicated to modern and contemporary art to acquire a group of works inscribed within the relationship between blockchain and artistic creation, among which its first NFTs. When asked how NFTs integrate Art History, Marcella Lista –curator of the video, sound and new media collection–answers: “Many concerns that pre-existed in Art History are addressed in the context of blockchain (…) some works explore questions related to copyright and law, like Jill Magid’s, who explores notions of ownership and the intertwining between emotional, symbolic and financial values in the internet.”
