Irene Kopelman’s work and research highlight the close and detailed relationship between art and science. Like a 19th century botanist she copies and studies plants and fossils closely. ‘Notes of Representations’ (2011), contains a collection of images and references from the artist’s archive which she has collected over the past six years. They are detailed artist’s drawings of enlarged stone microfossils, trees and other materials.
